This was a horrible moment for my country. I think that any one who thinks that the attacks were funny or “cool” are just stupid. We need to respect our country! There was more than one type of music around during the original pin-up era (40′s & 50′s). Bernie says that most of the pin-up models she’s met are “borrowing the style but not really into the lifestyle and music” and that she was “a rockabilly girl long before I was a pin up model”. This is a very ignorant statement simply because there was more than one type of music out during that time period. Amoung rockabilly there was big band/swing, jazz, blues, R&B, folk, skiffle, country, oh and let’s not forget the biggest of them all….ROCK’n'ROLL which sort of blew rockabilly away. To say that one is “borrowing” the pin-up style because they aren’t into rockabilly music is not only silly but uneducated. For some one who claims to be so deeply into the 1950′s culture *sarcasm* I would have thought she’d be a little more in the know.

PS – Bettie Page was coined “Queen of the Pinups” not Bernie Dexter. Google the phrase and see for yourself. It was even engraved on her tombstone. There is only one Godfather of Soul, one King of Rock’n'Roll and ONE Queen of Pinups. Sorry Bernie but that title is taken :)
